Dr. Ibram X. Kendi: An Antiracist Approach to Cancer Care

Our featured guest during National Minority Cancer Awareness Week is Dr. Ibram X. Kendi, the Andrew W. Mellon Professor in the Humanities at Boston University, and the director of the BU Center for Antiracist Research. He is the author of sixteen books for adults and children, including ten New York Times bestsellers. He authored the international bestseller, How to Be an Antiracist. In 2020, Time magazine named Dr. Kendi one of the 100 Most Influential People in the world and in 2021, he was awarded a MacArthur Fellowship, popularly known as the “Genius Grant.” Dr. Kendi shares his experience as a 6-year Stage IV colon cancer survivor (diagnosed at 35 years old) and his vision for an antiracist approach to cancer care.
